How it works
Outzu replaces the group chat, the calculator and the “who owes who?” spreadsheet. Here’s the whole evening.
Step 1
Plan it
- Make a plan in seconds: give it a name and a few times that might work.
- Invite friends with a link, WhatsApp, Messages or a QR code. They join with Apple, Google or their email.
- Suggest places and vote. Pick times and vote. Chat in the plan, not a busy group chat.
- Lock it: everyone gets the place, the time, directions and an “Add to calendar” button. A reminder arrives two hours before.
Step 2
Eat it
- Whoever pays starts the bill and takes a photo of the receipt. Outzu reads the lines, service, tip and total.
- Check them in one screen. Anything off? Edit it, add it, or type the bill in.
- Send it to the table. Everyone taps what they had on their own phone, live.
- Shared a starter? Tap it together, or set portions. Nothing gets missed: unclaimed items are flagged.
Step 3
Split it
- Outzu works out each person’s share to the penny, including their part of service and tip.
- Everyone sees what they owe and to whom, with a reference to use.
- Pay with the payer’s bank details, a QR code or their payment link — straight from your own bank. Tap “I’ve paid”.
- The payer taps “Received”. When everyone has paid, the plan settles itself.
Step 4
Get home safe
- Tap “Track me home” and choose who sees you. They see you’re on the way until you arrive.
- Running late, or not moving for a while? Your friends are asked to check on you.
- Hold SOS for 3 seconds to alert your group and text your emergency contacts with where you are.
