Split the bill
Everyone pays for what they had. Exactly.
Splitting evenly feels simple until the person who had a salad pays for someone else’s steak and wine. Outzu makes the fair split as quick as the even one.
How Outzu works it out
- Your items. Everything you tap is yours.
- Shared items. A dish tapped by three people is split three ways. You can set portions too — say you had two of the five dumplings.
- Service, tip and discounts. These are shared in proportion to what each person ordered. Order more, pay a bigger share of the service; skip the wine, pay no service on it.
- The odd amounts. ₱850.00 between three people doesn’t always divide exactly. Outzu hands out what’s left over fairly, so the shares always add up to the exact total on the receipt — never more or less.
A worked example
Four friends, ₱7,700.00 of food, 12.5% service (₱962.50), ₱8,662.50 in total. Ali paid.
| Who | Food | Service | Share | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sara | ₱1,900.00 | ₱237.50 | ₱2,137.50 | Owes Ali ₱2,137.50 |
| Ali (paid) | ₱2,700.00 | ₱337.50 | ₱3,037.50 | Gets ₱5,625.00 back |
| Priya | ₱1,550.00 | ₱193.75 | ₱1,743.75 | Owes Ali ₱1,743.75 |
| Tom | ₱1,550.00 | ₱193.75 | ₱1,743.75 | Owes Ali ₱1,743.75 |
The four shares add up to ₱8,662.50 exactly. Sara, Priya and Tom each get one payment to make, with Ali’s details and a reference.
Paying back
Outzu never holds your money. You pay your friend directly — bank transfer, IBAN, or the payment app they prefer — and tap “I’ve paid”. They tap “Received”, and when everyone has, the bill is settled. Got cash? There’s a button for that too.
